Butchers of Southyrol is a joint initiative of 50 South Tyrolean butchers.
Both small and larger businesses have joined the joint effort.

As we are convinced that we are stronger together, this cross-association initiative was launched. The goal is to present ourselves online as well as offline, to show the diversity of the profession, to break down old prejudices and to join forces.

The brains behind the project

The initiator of the project is Hannes Mair (Metzgerei & Feinkost Mair – Terlan). Hannes approached Tom Mair (Meatery – Olang) in spring 2021 with the idea of a joint appearance of all butchers in South Tyrol. The two butchers’ sons worked out a concept with the aim of increasing the visibility of butchers in South Tyrol and showing how diverse and modern the butcher’s trade can be.
A production company was commissioned to implement professional images and videos. Hannes and Tom actively accompany the project and are responsible for the content.

Under the slogan “better together”, every South Tyrolean butcher’s store was given the opportunity to join the initiative across associations.

56 brave butchers followed the call and joined the joint appearance under the name “Butchers of Southtyrol”.
